History

The Florida Phytopathological Society (FPS) was established in 1989. The society has provided an open forum for plant pathologists within Florida from academic, state, and federal institutions as well as various plant industries. Since establishment, the society has met biennially in odd years around the state. Meetings have provided opportunities to share insights and findings, and to publicly recognize significant contributions by our peers to the field of plant pathology. The FPS council consists of successive officers including Secretary, Vice President, President, and Immediate Past President.  Terms are two years with a new Secretary nominated and elected at each biennial meeting.

Mission

The FPS Mission is to improve the health and sustainability of Florida's plant industries by sharing information and forging lasting connections among the state's plant health professionals.
